Why Teach Cybersecurity?
Cybersecurity is the process of protecting data and information systems from threats. From finance to healthcare to retail to education, cybersecurity affects nearly every public and private industry sector across the globe! Cybersecurity threats pose huge risks to our personal, economic, and national security.
The demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals is growing every day. We must establish educational pathways to certifications and higher education. Regardless of the pathway a student takes, they will benefit from robust cybersecurity curricula in grades 9-12!

What Teachers Say About Our Materials
“I really, really like the sequence. This sequence is really comprehensive and it revisits different concepts in earlier units in later units. Then the second biggest thing is having the virtual labs. Students really need that hands-on aspect to any class.”
Ashley B.Maryland
“I love that Teach Cyber is a whole course. I am so glad for some consistency and a coherent sequence of topics. This cybersecurity curriculum has truly been a blessing! My students in my class got to do cybersecurity not read about cybersecurity. The one thing I have been able to count on this year has been good solid lessons for my cybersecurity class… for that I thank you!”
Ronda S.Texas
“(The materials) are very comprehensive and they cover a broad range of topics. I think they are complete. I like the lesson plan and the activities and labs that go along with them. I know there was a lot of work that went into writing and getting this comprehensive set of materials together. I totally appreciate that as a teacher. That’s a time saver.”
Melody S.Maryland
“I think the course materials are complete, they are written well. I think there are really good discussion activities as well as the labs. I really like the labs especially because they do provide that hands-on component of cybersecurity which is often tough to do.”
Nick Y.Maryland
“I think there’s a lot there to start with. I like that it’s a whole, complete course having never taught it. That for me was a big selling point.”
Diane G.Maryland
